Mundus, the ultimate creation of Dr. Dario. A little known scientist who for decades sought to harness the power of time. Despite his numerous attempts to imbue himself with this power, time after time he would find that his physical body was simply unable to handle it, and if he tried to truly control time, it would likely kill him. To get around this, he instead resolved to create a lifeform hand crafted for the purpose of being able to control the flow of time. It would take many years, and many failed attempts, including a certain red colored monarch long ago, such a silly name, he would once think to himself. But eventually a fairly aged Dario would finally complete his mission. Before him stood a mechanical being that still looked perfectly natural. He marvelled at his finest work, and with a frail and tired hand, reached out to touch him.
This would however prove to be a terrible mistake, as in his advanced age from years of trying to fight the flow of time, Dario forgot one key ingredient that keeps Mundus' power over time in check. The moment his hand touched the surface of his new creation, the flow of time for Dario became disrupted, and as he stepped back away from Mundus, he could feel himself suddenly growing stronger, and after looking in a nearby mirror, he noticed he was also getting younger by the second. At that moment Dario felt he was achieving his goals in more ways than anticipated and that he would be saved from a death of age and decay.
While in this younger state, Dario immediately remembered the power constraint he intended to install in his creation, and swiftly applied it to Mundus' internal circuitry. With everything complete, Dario would take a step back and look once more at his work, as Mundus began the process of waking up for the first time. The only problem however, was that as Mundus began to awaken, Dario watched as his creation appeared to grow in size. That was, until he realized it wasn't just Mundus growing, but the world around him. Attempting to gaze into the mirror nearby once more, he instead saw just the top of his head, barely able to reach the height of the mirror. At that point, Dario realized exactly what was about to happen.
Mundus would awaken, and all around him he saw an empty room. He stepped down from his platform for the first time, taking in existence as he drew his first "breath". At that moment Mundus' mind was filled with uploaded knowledge, and within minutes he became aware of the reason for his existence. Then, he realized his power. He could halt the flow of time entirely, freely able to move and interact with the world while time is stopped. For just four seconds. Despite the knowledge bestowed to him, he was intentionally left unaware of the limitations that were placed on him prior to waking up for the first time.
Security camera footage showing the inner laboratory never did reveal Dario leaving, his fate remained a mystery, but one that Mundus didn't care to solve, as he would leave the lab in short order, deciding to ignore his given instructions, deleting them from his memory and charting his own course in this life he was just given. The security camera footage showing him standing there one moment and gone the very next second without moving a muscle.
Eventually, Mundus' travels would bring him to a battle Arena, and while Mundus' installed knowledge informed him of the existence of this place as a good means of testing his abilities, Mundus was hesitant to join, as he hadn't had a chance to use his powers in combat and yet felt compelled by something within him to go and fight. Try as he would to resist, his internal coding screamed at him that this was the necessary next step in the grand plan. Whatever that plan was, Mundus wasn't entirely sure, all he knew was that his destiny was truly here.
Joining as a rookie in the Season 2 Tournament, Mundus hit the scene in his debut match, against the mighty Kurt. Despite the odds, he put up a good fight, and would likely have won the match had Kurt not adapted to the novice fighter's Time Stop. However, no competitor has left quite a mark on Mundus than Chutz.
The two first met during their initial fight with one another, during which Mundus quickly dispensed with Chutz. However, after their fight, the two would shake hands and look into one another's eyes, and instantly something clicked and Mundus suddenly felt some kind of feeling he had never felt before, he suddenly cared for another person. Despite the fight they had, they felt the synergy between them immediately, and the two decided they would form a team for the Grand Ball Cup Tournament. Despite Mundus' more aggressive and cold demeanor, Chutz counters this perfectly with a very calm and warm disposition. Since their fight, the two haven't been seen without the other somewhere nearby, and many speculate they are in some kind of relationship though Chutz himself says things between them are purely platonic, yet still romantic. Neither of them though seem to understand the true reason why they were so drawn to one another.
As the two prepared for the next Season at the same time as preparing for the play offs of the Grand Ball Cup, the two were approached by another pair of competitors, The Twins, Tyna and Dillo. Mundus wasn't too receptive to the duo, while Chutz saw this as a perfect opportunity to take them in, and train them to be a far better pair of fighters. While skeptical, Mundus agreed to this only because Chutz was so adamant about it. The Twins would join the duo and form the Boss Gauntlet team, Space Times 2. Now Mundus finds himself training two young competitors while creating a relationship with someone he has never had quite this connection with before.
Unarmed use their bodies primarily to do damage. Any contact with an unarmed body does damage to another ball, with unarmed collisions rewarding the faster ball with doing damage.
Mundus can halt the flow of time entirely while remaining free to move about the arena. Mundus does 6 damage on contact. All hits landed while time is stopped accumulate and are applied all at once the moment time resumes, making a well-positioned time stop capable of delivering burst damage in an instant.
All Unarmed have a passive speed gain, that resets upon taking or making a hit.
